Marilyn versus Aegje Hasselaer

I started combining and manipulating pictures of female models and celebrities with classic paintings of old masters with the Royalty series. After I have the digital creation ready, I have it printed on paper and glued onto the canvas. I sometimes apply a glossy surface with flower motives. Still, a matt structure with thick layers of gel medium is also possible. They are all made by hand, individually a bit different in editions of max 25. I create the works on linen mounted on a 3D aluminum high-quality frame, shipped worldwide by professionals.
