The raw structured landscapes are a new original series made from pictures I took during my travels in and outside Holland. Last summer, my family and I went on holiday to Brittany, where we visited the town of Saint-Malou on July 14. You could walk there on the beautiful city walls, and slowly, the water from the beach disappeared. Stunning rock formations and lots of rock emerged, so beautiful that I couldn’t stop taking photos. When I got home, I started working on this painting based on the pictures I took that day. It was edited with Gel medium, oil paint, acrylic paint, and a semi-gloss varnish. Artwork is created by combining photography, digital editing, and painting due to the layered structure and vibrant colours. It almost seems as if this work comes to life when you stand in front of it. You can lose yourself in the details. The effect is practically 3D. I created this piece by hand on a high-quality wood panel with a satin coating.
